Fringe Paper Party Bags

Fringe Paper Party Bags

Now this is a DIY you could do with your eyes shut. Well, maybe not – this project requires scissors. But you get what I'm saying – it’s easy!

We love our tall paper bags – they’re classic, sleek and oh so simple to dress up. And here’s an idea to jazz them up which I'm just swooning over. All you need is some paper bags, a crepe paper streamer, scissors and glue.

First, hold the crepe streamer against the width of the bag and cut it to the same length. Then carefully cut strips in to the streamer, approximately two-thirds of the way across, being careful not to cut right across it.

Then along the part of the streamer which has not been cut add a few blobs of glue (you’ll need to be gentle here as the crepe paper will tear quite easily now that you’ve cut it). Stick the streamer on to the bag so the bottom of the frill lines up with the bottom of the bag. Repeat this as many times as you like, gluing each layer slightly higher up on the bag to create a full fringe effect on the bag.

There you have it – an adorable fringe party bag. This will definitely get your guests talking!

You might have spotted how we used the same fringing technique in our popcorn display.
