Choosing the theme or idea behind a child's 1st birthday party can be a tricky one. It might be the parents' first time throwing a children's party, the thought of which can be daunting, and it might also be the only time the parents get to have a say in the look of the party! Which is why I thought I'd show this example of an elegant 1st birthday made up of a wonderful combination of sweet accessories and grown up touches.

This delightful party was created by Coffee and Milk Events with a subtle bumble bee theme - only a few bumble bee designs show up throughout the display which makes for a low-key but classic looking celebration. The yellow and pink colour scheme adds the youthful side to the party making it a beautiful party for a one year old.

I love the simple chalkboard designs used in this party but I also like the pops of colour added by the flowers. What do you think? Would you choose a bumble bee theme for a 1st birthday party?
